The one and only melon that grew in our garden this year, a delicious lemon-yellow on the outside and a creamy buttery-yellow on the inside. That's just about how it tasted, too.

Tchotchke: A small object that is decorative rather than strictly functional; a trinket.
As parents of three children under the age of 6, our lives are surrounded by plastic and noise. So often we can't even remember what day it is, let alone trying to examine the day to find purpose in it.
Quotidian Tchotchke is a challenge for my wife and I to remind each other that every day is filled with beauty if we are disciplined enough to examine it.
